As a young man during adolescence, your penis can have a mind of its own. You may experience frequent erections that come out of nowhere. You may have ejaculations in your sleep (wet dreams). You may even have ejaculations spontaneously or with little stimulation while awake.
Relax! Here are some helpful facts:
- It is common for young men to climax quickly, sometimes within seconds
- You will learn the skill of holding back over time
- If you are anxious you may climax faster
- Hold back and avoid touch that excites you quickly
- If you ejaculate quickly the first time, your next erection will last longer and you will take longer to ejaculate
What is considered climaxing too quickly is relative: it varies very much from person to person. What is considered too quick for one person is average for another and what a young man may think is too quick, average or too long can be perceived very differently from the partners of young men so communication is key!
Most men experience premature ejaculation at some point in their lives. Controlling it is something you can learn and practice.
With any erection, it is important to remember that even a small amount of pre-ejaculate fluid (pre-cum) from the tip of the penis can contain live sperm which can cause a pregnancy and/or transmit STIs including HIV. An aroused penis should always be covered by a condom.
